Wednesday 11th October 2017
Meet at The Amble Inn (Bistro Gautier), Station Road (AL5 4UL) Harpenden at 10.30 a.m.
The walk is approx. 4 miles around Crabtree Fields, Pipers Lane and the disused Hatfield railway line. Several kissing gates but no stiles. The pub lunch is at The Amble Inn, where a booking has been made. Menus will be available at the walk start for pre-ordering lunch. Spouses and friends are welcome.
We will meet in the The Amble Inn Car Park at the Batford end of Station Road. Cost NIL (pay for your own lunch and drinks). Parking free.
Some mud should be anticipated at this time of year (walking boots essential) and the weather is always uncertain, so members should wear and/or carry suitable apparel and walking aids to meet all conditions. When coming on this walk, you and any guests you invite to attend are confirming that you and they have read and will conform to the Probus Club of Harpenden’s Guidelines for Outings, Trips & Walks.
It would be helpful, but not essential, if you let John Goodson (620591, or 07749205875 on the day) know by noon on Tuesday 10th October if you are coming in order that we have an idea of the numbers and who to ring if cancelled due to bad weather.
[The Amble Inn is at the Batford end of Station Road on the left immediately after the narrow railway bridge of the disused railway and opposite a general stores with a red letter box outside. It also displays the name “Bistro Gautier”.]
